Rose is a professional musical performer/songwriter who tours around the world.
Her stage name is Chicago Rose: http://www.ChicagoRose.com.Article about Chicago Rose:
Born of the diverse musical culture of the city which provides her name, the music of Chicago Rose evokes her hometown's many influences. Driving her sweet yet solid voice is the musical diversity brought to mind by the city of Chicago. Woven into her sound is a true musicianship missing in many vocalists. She can sight-read sheet music and charts with ease as well as improvise on all of her instruments including: voice, piano, flute, melodica, melodic whistling, even ukulele! Rose also has an international appeal; in addition to her native tongue of English, she can sing flawlessly in various languages such as, Spanish, Italian, and Japanese.
The perfect performer for sophisticated audiences, Chicago Rose is excellent and can adapt her show to any performance space. From a solo performance to a full concert with her ensemble, Rose combines some of the world's most popular songs with her own original music to create an amazing show. Her new CD, I Am a Butterfly has been played on radio stations in Chicago, including WGN and NPR's WBEZ, who only plays the region's finest, and radio stations in Belgium, Norway, Italy, Spain, France, Ireland, Wales and Australia. Shows in the Black Forest of Germany brought a great response and an invitation back. Rose has also been featured in the Chicago Sun Times, Lerner Newspapers, and the Daily Southtown Newspaper.
Chicago Rose is a talented songwriter/arranger. Her insightful original compositions enrapture any audience. The lyrics of her own songs are hauntingly autobiographical, yet possess a universal view into the life of every listener. From the restricted soul yearning for freedom-combined-with-support in her theme song I Am a Butterfly, to Amerasian Boy's sexy, sultry desires of love just out of reach, to the devastation of losing a love most cherished in You Meant the World to Me, Rose's words and music touch every soul.
Although new to the national scene, Rose's solo career is backed by a diverse resume of touring professionally in several acapella vocal groups for colleges, state fairs, and corporations throughout the country as well as on regional television broadcasts. On tour with the group, The Sound, which featured Rose's lead vocals, original compositions, and arrangements for five-part harmony Rose opened for the Beach Boys. As she sang, she was joined on stage by Beach Boys lead singer, Mike Love, who said of her performance, “That's my new favorite song." Later in the show the Beach Boys returned the favor by bringing Rose on stage for backup vocals. Chicago audiences adore their native daughter, constantly encouraging Rose to bring her music to a wider market.
Chicago Rose currently headlines at Roth's Prime Steakhouse and Piano Lounge in Lemont, one of Chicagoland's premier gourmet restaurants. As Roth's headlining performer, Rose sings and accompanies herself, and is often featured at special events, including New Year's Eve. Whether she is singing and playing in a quiet intimate setting, a large auditorium, or a loud upbeat room, Chicago Rose always involves her audience by taking requests, and encouraging people to sing and smile along with her.
